My Journey From Player to Trainer

I’m Rachel, a softball trainer who has lived and breathed this sport since the day I first stepped onto the field. My journey began at Orem High School, where I played both catcher and middle infield, two roles that shaped how I see the game and how I carry myself as an athlete. Catching taught me to lead with confidence, guide a defense, and stay locked in on every pitch. Playing the middle infield sharpened my timing, awareness, and ability to anticipate plays before they unfolded. Those early years didn’t just build my skills; they built my competitive mindset and set the foundation for the coach I’ve become.
I continued my career at Eastern Arizona College, where my game reached a new level through consistent work, accountability, and higher competition. College ball pushed me to become both a power hitter and a location hitter, capable of driving the ball deep when needed or placing it exactly where the situation called for. I spent countless hours studying pitchers, refining my swing, and learning how to make adjustments under pressure. Every challenge helped me understand the strategy, discipline, and mental control required to succeed. Those lessons didn’t just make me a better player; they shaped the coach I am today.
Now, as a trainer, my purpose is to take everything I learned through years of practice, coaching, and competition and pass it on with clarity and passion. I don’t teach athletes to memorize movements; I teach them to understand them. My coaching focuses on improving mechanics, strengthening mindset, and developing players who trust their preparation. I want athletes to feel confident in their abilities and grounded in their technique. Whether we’re working on hitting, defense, or game IQ, my goal is to help players compete with intention and grow with purpose. Every session is built to elevate both skill and confidence.
Most importantly, I want every player who trains with me to walk away knowing they have a coach who believes in them. The game has given me so much discipline, resilience, passion, and now my purpose is to give that back. Whether you’re learning the basics, preparing for high-level competition, or looking to refine your game, I’m here to guide you, challenge you, and support you every step of the way. Together, we’re not just building softball skills, we’re building strong, confident athletes who know how to show up, compete, and win on any field they step onto.
